NYC Tattoo Artists, You are not Essential!

Most tattoo artists I know are beyond anal with sanitary working conditions. I think the tattoo artists in Georgia and the general public are quite capable of assessing and minimizing their risk not only with this virus, but whatever risk life might present in the future. In the good old days this was known as living. If you ain’t living you must be dead. I know some people hate it when you talk about how great America is and they may even pray for a day our enemies will overtake us, but thank God our country was founded by men like Patrick Henry who famously said "Give me liberty, or give me death!"

Meanwhile, Snohomish County Sheriff, Adam Fortney figuratively gave Washington governor, Jay Inslee a big fat middle finger when he let it be known that he would not be enforcing Inslee’s overreaching stay-at-home order. On April 22, Sheriff Fortney made it clear, via a Facebook post, that "along with other elected Sheriffs around our state, the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office will not be enforcing an order preventing religious freedoms or constitutional rights". He made clear to Inslee that his order "intrudes on our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness".

Here in NYC, tattoo artists are only a small group of folks still being brainwashed that they are not essential by governor Cuomo and mayor De Blasio. NYC tattoo artists are definitely more educated in the spread of infectious diseases and maintaining sanitary working conditions than bodega owners and taxi drivers. Seriously, in some bodegas and cabs in NYC you probably have more to worry about than catching COVID-19, not to mention the subway system. De Blasio, why don’t you do something about all of the infectious medical waste, in the way of gloves and masks, littering the streets and sidewalks? I remember when getting my NYC tattoo license we were told medical waste had to be disposed of properly. Is it now okay to throw out our used tattooing gloves in the streets? I guess workers cleaning up medical waste clogging the City’s streets and sidewalks are also considered nonessential.
